The Way of the Sword
The art of the Shaolin sword — where precision meets flow, movement meets stillness, and technique becomes awareness.
The sword is more than a weapon.
In traditional Chinese martial arts, sword practice develops focus, coordination, control and clarity.
Every movement has a direction.
Every technique has an intention.
Through meditation, movement and fundamental sword techniques, we explore the connection between body, mind and blade.
No previous martial arts or sword experience is required.
Come as a beginner. Take your first steps on the Way of the Sword.

What you will experience by participating:
-
Meditation & Presence
Before learning to move the sword, we learn to become still.
Through a short guided meditation, we bring our attention to breath, posture and awareness.
Stillness before movement. Awareness before action.
-
Sword Fundamentals
We learn the essential foundations of sword practice in a beginner-friendly and structured way.
We explore grip, stance, footwork, coordination, direction and control, followed by fundamental sword techniques such as cutting, piercing and circular movements.
The focus is not on speed or perfection, but on understanding how the sword and body move as one.
-
Flow & Coordination
Once the individual techniques become familiar, we begin connecting them.
Simple movement combinations develop coordination, spatial awareness and a feeling for the natural flow of the sword.
From individual technique to continuous movement.
Your First Sword Sequence.
-
Tea Ceremony & Closing Circle
We finish where martial arts ultimately lead us back to: stillness.
Over tea, we slow down, reflect on the experience and create space for questions and exchange.
From stillness to movement — and from movement back to stillness.
